Male Pectoral Implants

Male Chest Enhancement with natural contours

Pectoral augmentation for men can help achieve a fuller, more natural muscular contour by artistically placing implants into the male chest musculature. This procedure is designed with symmetry and custom sculpting from a cosmetic point of view. The implant size and shapes are selected to reshape the normal structures of a male’s chest to improve the patient’s appearance and self esteem.

Benefits of Male Pectoral Implants

Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape the normal structure of the body and is generally performed to improve function and approximate a most natural appearance. Prospective patients should weigh both sides carefully before making a decision in order to avoid having any regrets later on. All the risks and benefits of this procedure will be discussed in-depth during the consultation session with the surgeon.

For some men, reconstruction surgery may be great benefit for those that have suffered from trauma to the chest wall or developmental abnormalities. Obtaining pectoral implants can provide men with the size and shape that they need in order to have a firm, well-proportioned and perfectly sculpted physique. These semi-soft, but solid implants are placed under the pectoralis major muscle and have the feel of well developed muscle.

What to Expect During and After the Procedure

Pectoralis augmentation is usually done under general anesthesia and takes between 1 and 2 hours to complete. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, the surgeon begins with making an incision at the apex of the armpit following the natural skin crease. After the implants have been put in place, the incision is then closed with sutures that dissolve. Following the surgery, the chest is wrapped with elastic bandages for a short period of time to keep the swelling down during the healing period.

Since this is an out-patient procedure, the patient can be discharged within hours of the procedure being completed. In certain cases, an overnight stay at the hospital may be needed. Bed rest is recommended for the first 24 hours after the operation and physical activities are restricted for the first week following the surgery. After the incision heals, light physical activity may be resumed; however, it will take at least 6 weeks until the body fully recovers. Strenuous activities should be avoided until your surgeon gives the signal that it’s ok to start exercising again.
